Community Elevation Grant Project Manager

Stipend: $1,080 month


The United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, dba ArtsGreensboro, is a community-supported nonprofit organization that invests in the arts and the creative community. ArtsGreensboro supports access to the arts for all citizens, supports arts integration in our schools, builds capacity for our arts community, and unifies the community through the power of the arts. Through competitive grantmaking programs and professional development initiatives, ArtsGreensboro provides resources to artists and arts and cultural organizations across our community.

The Community Elevation Grant Program provides funding opportunities for arts-based community projects working with those who directly benefit. Grant funds will support artists and cross-sector collaborations with residents, community and civic groups, and local businesses to solve community needs through the arts. Collaborative projects may include designing green spaces for residents to gather, murals and streetscaping that proudly reflect a neighborhood’s history and cultural vitality, community days, street crawls, pop-up art days, music and poetry cafes, or summer reading and art programs.

ArtsGreensboro is seeking a dynamic and innovative Project Manager to pilot the Community Elevation Grant Program in East Greensboro, District 2 at the Renaissance Shopping Center. Responsibilities will include igniting partnerships and building community trust, promoting neighborhood input for a shared vision, and providing opportunities for resident and community stakeholder engagement. This is a contracted temporary position that will initiate the launch of this new grant program working directly within the East Greensboro community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Community Elevation Project Manager will possess the experience and skills to:

  • Build and nurture key community partnerships and collaborations
  • Provide listening platforms to amplify the community’s voice, strengthening neighborhood relationships
  • Organize and participate in community outreach and engagement events representing ArtsGreensboro and the Community Elevation Grant Program
  • Document outreach, engagement, and partnership efforts for project evaluation
  • Work in collaboration with ArtsGreensboro staff and leadership to execute the grant program promotion and awareness efforts
  • Assist in the organization of community input platforms for final grant project selection

Education and Qualifications

  • Connection to the East Greensboro community a must (resident, business, volunteer, etc.)
  • Experience in project management, community art projects preferred
  • Experience working with neighborhood organizations, local businesses, civic, and/or community groups
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to prioritize
  • People and community centered, willingness to provide inclusive platforms for dialogue and discussion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills, ability to prioritize, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable, flexible means of transportation is required.
