ArtsGreensboro, the community united arts fund of Greensboro, NC, seeks a new director to manage all aspects of its fundraising programs. The Director reports directly to the President/CEO. He/she will work with staff and Board members and volunteers to create a robust and successful fundraising program. The Director has primary responsibility for (1) the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan to develop key external alliances through the cultivation of individual and philanthropic support, and (2) the solicitation of major gifts, planned gifts, special events, and corporate and foundation support. It is expected that the amount raised by ArtsGreensboro will increase in future years as the Director of Development systematically and effectively strengthens the organization’s overall fundraising capacity.
Qualifications: The successful candidate for the position will have the following characteristics:
A successful record of fundraising with at least five-years experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a major cultural institution, including higher education and nonprofits.
Demonstrated experience in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive advancement program.
Demonstrated experience in various program components such as annual fund development, major gift solicitation, and proposal development.
Experience working effectively with board and volunteer leadership
Bachelor’s degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree.
Preference will be given to candidates familiar with the North Carolina and greater Triad philanthropic community.
The position requires regular attendance at evening and weekend events.
