Gelli Prints – Printmaking Class

November 13 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

We will use a “gelli plate” to create a gelatin print, which is a form of monoprinting that requires no printing press. The process involves taking leaves or cut paper forms to use as negative shapes for direct printing. The CAN-NC campus will provide us with lots of leaves to choose from to print our images on white or mulberry paper. Gelatin printmaking is an environmentally friendly form of printmaking because no solvents are used. Participants will make three to five 8 and 1/2”: by 11” prints. The finished prints can be framed, used for collage, or glued onto almost any surface.

Betsy Renfrew is a CAN-NC campus artist who, like other campus artists, loves upcycling old art materials and transforming them into new and exciting art. She has worked with diverse populations and encourages individuals to move at their own pace.
Date and times: November 13,  10:00 am to 12:00 noon
