Movie: TRAUMA
Not all veterans return home welcomed. TRAVIS, an army veteran is faced with the harsh realities of returning home post combat to nothing. Travis encounters a new lifestyle haunted by the effects of abandonment in his post-combat emotional release through substance abuse. Travis’ wife, Kate played by Lindsay Kilgore, drives him to a mental breakdown. In searching for an escape he meets Delano, played by Malachi Paige, Travis’ friend who is also his dope dealer that plays a fine line between friend and predator.
After a huge let down TRAVIS tries to rid his life an old battle buddy but cannot due to their disappointing history. LEONARD, played by Tremell Parker, once a devout brother like friend to Travis, seeks revenge for a past betrayal. Travis leans on his old squad leader for mentorship and help adjusting to stateside life from SGT TURNER, played by Marcus E. Huffman. A whirlwind of events pushes the envelope between past failures and current dilemmas in reality as these two look to defeat an old enemy.
The life after the military is shown in a way that is often times hidden to protect the image our service men and women. Will Travis succumb to the mental health deterioration and pressures of civilian life or will he find resilience in living for something other than the demons he faces everyday?
