T. Walker In the Crown

December 1, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$15 – $20

T. Walker is an artist, educator, gallery curator, and founder of Heavy Energy, an organization focused on uplifting creatives. Utilizing his art to push forward conversation and discuss important topics through hip-hop, he had the opportunity to have a viewing of his “Gentrification” music video at UNCG, NCA&T, and the Harvey B. Gantt Center in Charlotte, NC, and during his 2020 Vision Tour, he headlined the National Black Theatre Festival’s Words & Verses alongside his WORD Society poetry team. Upon completion of the tour, he had the phenomenal opportunity to speak alongside Mr. Kent Ford, founding member of Portland’s Black Panther Chapter to celebrate Black History Month.

In 2021, T. Walker curated SOULiloquies, an art exhibition combining music, poetry, and visual arts. The exhibition has become a touring educational experience for all ages and has found homes across the south. T. Walker is currently studying the arts as a revolutionary movement and focusing heavily on education of history, entrepreneurship, and storytelling through hip hop, poetry, and visual arts. Musically, he has toured the country opening for artists Cyhi The Prince, Nick Grant, Wise Intelligent (of Poor Righteous Teachers), Sunni Patterson, KRS-One, David Banner, and more.

ABOUT KIIBA
At first glance, Kiiba seems very quiet, like someone who looks as if he blends in, but there’s much more than meets the eye. Labeled as the Underground Underdog, the 22-year old is a voice of the current generation, specifically those who are considered to be outsiders. Influenced by Bob Marley and Nirvana just as much as he is Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar, Kiiba calls his distinctive sound “human music,” because there is no real explanation for it beyond “pure, raw emotion.” A young, rebellious mind, with a mature and rugged voice, Kiiba is bound to be the next North Carolina talent to step into the spotlight.

ABOUT TROYA
